كيف تستخدم القاموس

Most people think that the dictionary is just for giving the meaning of a word (or use it as so)

الكثير يعتقد أن القاموس هو لمعنى الكلمة فقط (او يقتصر استعماله لمعرفة المعتى فقط)

[But if a person does not know how to spell a word, how can they look it up?

لكن لو فرضنا ان الشخص لا يعرف كيف يكتب الكلمة كيف يمكنه البحث عنها/

This is a problem for traditional dictionaries" users

[هذه قد تكون مشكلة لمستخدمي القاموس التقليدي

but on-line dictionaries have a solution

لكن القاموس الالكتروني الفوري لديه الحل
Many on-line dictionaries allow you to write in just the
letters you know

الكثير من القواميس الفورية (ان صحت التسمية) تسمح لك بكاتبة الاحرف التي تعرفها

and it will return all the words with those letters in the positions you specify.

وبعد ذلك تعطيك الكلمات في الموقع الذي قمت انت بتحديده

You may then select the word you need.

يمكنك بعد ذلك اختيار الكلمة التي تحتاجها

For example, let's suppose you

don't know the order of the "i" and the "e" in the word receive.

You can also use this technique for writing poetry

Of course, this method isn't perfect because sound and spelling do not perfectly correlate

بالطبع هذه الطريقة ليست كاملة لان طريقة الكتابة وطريقة اللفظ لا تتطابق

but it may get you the word you want.

Pronunciation

one problem with pronunciation is that there are often several different pronunciations of words.

من التحديات (لا اريد ترجمتها الى مشكلة) الهامة في كيفية النطق ان هناك طرق مختلفة في نطق الكلمات

This is a particular problem in English, where great differences in pronunciation exist between US (with its Brooklyn, Southern, and other dialects), British, Australian, and other variants.

Ask someone to pronounce interrupt for you (show it to them written).

The solution to the problem is audio files reproducing the actual pronunciation, now available to electronic dictionaries.
